Overview

VriddhiApp is a personal finance app built for clarity, control, and trust. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. We have written this in plain English because you deserve to understand what happens with your data without decoding legal jargon.

What data the app stores

VriddhiApp stores two broad categories of information:

• Financial data — transactions, account balances, credit cards, loans, subscriptions, investment entries, purchase plans, goals, and notes you add to the app. This data is stored on your device only.
• Account data — your email address and basic account information used to manage your access to the app. This is stored securely for authentication purposes.

VriddhiApp stores the financial information you add to the app. It does not currently use your financial data for advertising, resale, or third-party profiling.

Financial data storage

All financial data you enter — including transactions, balances, account details, purchase plans, goals, and spending history — is stored locally on your device using on-device storage.

This data is not transmitted to VriddhiApp servers. It is not backed up to our cloud infrastructure. It is not accessible to us or to any third party through our systems.

We are working on an optional encrypted cloud backup feature. If and when this is introduced, it will be strictly opt-in, clearly explained, and governed by updated privacy terms. Participation will be your explicit choice.

Data that stays on your device

The following is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our systems:

• Transaction records (date, amount, category, notes)
• Account information (bank accounts, credit cards, loans, subscriptions)
• Account balances and net worth calculations
• Financial goals and target amounts
• Purchase plans and decision notes
• Monthly spending summaries and history
• Spending baselines and profile preferences

Limited server communication

VriddhiApp uses limited server-side infrastructure for the following purposes only:

Authentication and account access

When you create an account or sign in, we use a server-side flow to verify your identity. This involves your email address and a one-time password (OTP) sent to confirm access. This information is used only to authenticate you — it is not linked to your financial data and is not used for any other purpose.

Account management

Basic account-level data — such as your email address and account status — is stored securely to maintain your access to the app and to handle account recovery if needed.

These server-side operations are minimal, purposeful, and completely separate from your financial data. Your financial transactions, balances, and personal finance entries are never part of any server communication.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, aggregated analytics to understand how the app is being used — such as which screens are visited, how often the app is opened, and where users encounter errors. These analytics do not include any personally identifiable information and cannot be linked back to individual users or their financial data.

We do not use analytics that track your individual behaviour for advertising, profiling, or resale purposes.

Email and authentication

Your email address is collected when you create an account. It is used solely for:

• Sending you a one-time password to verify your identity
• Account recovery if you lose access
• Important service communications related to your account (such as security notices)

We do not use your email address for marketing without your explicit consent. We do not share your email address with third-party advertisers or data brokers.

Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal data or financial data with third parties for commercial purposes.

We may share minimal, non-financial data with trusted service providers who help us operate the app — such as infrastructure providers for authentication services. These providers are contractually bound to handle data only as directed by us and are not permitted to use it for any other purpose.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or legal process. We will notify you when possible and permitted.

Data selling and advertising

VriddhiApp does not have an advertising business model. The product is intended to be sustained by user subscriptions or one-time purchases — not by monetising your financial information.

User control and data deletion

You remain in control of your data at all times.

Delete financial data

You can permanently delete all financial data stored on your device at any time from within the app. Go to Profile → Clear all data. This action is irreversible.

Delete your account

To delete your account and remove your email and authentication data from our servers, contact us at privacy@vriddhiapp.com. We will process account deletion requests within 30 days.

Data portability

We are working on a data export feature that will allow you to export your financial data in a standard format. This will be available in a future update.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data we hold — including your email address and authentication tokens. Our server-side infrastructure uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest.

Because your financial data is stored locally on your device, its security also depends on your device's security — including screen lock, device encryption, and keeping your operating system up to date.

No system is completely secure. We will notify you promptly if we become aware of a security incident that affects your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the app and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Continued use of VriddhiApp after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with any changes, you may stop using the app and request deletion of your account data.
